Frequently asked questions

Is the first terminal really free?
Yes, indefinitely. You can run Kassa POS on one Stripe Terminal reader at no cost. You only pay Stripe's standard card processing fees when you take a payment.
What counts as a terminal?
One physical reader (WisePad 3, M2, S700, S710, WisePOS E) or one device using Tap to Pay on iPhone or Android. The number of staff or devices running the app does not affect pricing.
How do I subscribe for a second or third terminal?
Log in to your Kassa dashboard and click "Subscribe". You will be taken to a Stripe Checkout page where you can enter a card. Billing starts immediately and you can cancel or change your plan at any time through the Billing Portal.
What happens if I remove a terminal?
Open the Billing Portal from your dashboard and update your subscription quantity to match your current reader count. Stripe will prorate the change automatically.
Do I need a separate Stripe account?
No. Kassa connects to your existing Stripe account via a one-time pairing code. All payment revenue flows directly through your Stripe account — Kassa never holds or processes your funds.
What hardware do I need?
Any Stripe Terminal reader (sold by Stripe) plus an Android or iOS phone or tablet to run the Kassa app. No proprietary POS hardware is required.
